What Domino Readers Actually Bought in August
The end-of-summer cart audit: a sleeper sofa worth owning, a $14 crate people bought six of, and a showerhead that acts like skincare.
In brief
The end-of-summer cart audit: a sleeper sofa worth owning, a $14 crate people bought six of, and a showerhead that acts like skincare. August's best sellers were mostly double-duty pieces: things that solve a real problem at home and still look good doing it. Originally reported by domino.
Make the house work harder
August carts leaned practical. Readers bought pieces that pull double duty, with a few purely good-looking things mixed in.
“August's best-sellers made a strong case for things that pull their weight with style.”
A sleeper sofa without apologies
Quince's $1,900 Stillman got adopted by a family of four for daily lounging, and overnight guests rated the memory-foam mattress well. No squeaks, no sagging.
“No squeaks, no sagging, no apologizing to your houseguests about the pullout.”
The $14 crate you buy six of
HAY's recycled-plastic Colour Crates fold flat, stack when full, and come in enough shades that organizing the pantry feels like decorating.
“Sometimes the smallest purchase is the one you end up ordering six of.”
A nursery rug that grows up
IKEA's handwoven Stockholm 2025 wool rug runs brick, cream, and powder blue. Playful enough for a baby's room, not so babyish it can't move anywhere else.
“playful enough for a nursery but decidedly not babyish”
Hotel towels, on sale
Boll & Branch's six-piece Turkish set is 700-GSM extra-long-staple organic cotton, marked down from $272 to $218. Thick, fluffy, five-star adjacent.
“There are towels, and then there are 700-GSM, extra-long-staple organic Turkish cotton towels”
Florals and stripes, both
GreenRow's block-print tablecloth frames a rose motif in a striped border. At half off, $199 down to $99, it's less precious about red wine.
“somewhere between English cottage and a very good vacation rental in Provence”
File your sheets upright
SheetCube's $26 zip-up organizers stand each sheet set on its end with a label slot, so the closet stops turning into a cotton avalanche.
“Queen or Full?”
A showerhead as skincare
Jolie's $169 filtered head installed almost instantly, kept water pressure strong, and after a month Domino's tester reported softer hair and calmer skin.
“A beauty treatment that requires approximately 20 seconds of plumbing.”
The bottom line
August's best sellers were mostly double-duty pieces: things that solve a real problem at home and still look good doing it.
