Shot inside her own tent
Iman Shalouf, 27 and nearly eight months pregnant, was sitting in her family's tent in al-Mawasi, south of Khan Younis, when Israeli gunfire struck her in the head.
Her mother-in-law heard it
Wathfa abu Mashi was praying when the shots came. A relative went to check the tent and found Iman covered in blood.
“She went to check on her and found her covered in blood after she was hit by a bullet.”
A heartbeat, then none
At Nasser hospital doctors first picked up the unborn baby's heartbeat. Iman and her son died a few hours later. They were buried side by side in Khan Younis.
His name was already Ayoub
The family had chosen the baby's name. He was due in November. The Israel Defense Forces told the Guardian they were looking into the incident.
Ten dead in 48 hours

Gaza's health ministry counted 10 killed and 56 wounded across two days, including a family of four in Beit Lahiya: Momen Ahmed, his wife Haneen Saleh, and daughters Lana, 12, and Bana, 8.
Children keep dying
Unicef reported seven children killed between 23 August and 2 September. MSF said Israeli forces issued 18 evacuation orders in four days and struck a building 250ft from its clinic.
“Airstrikes by Israeli forces continue killing and wounding Palestinians”
No water, no power

A halt to Israeli desalination cut supply to about a million people. Hospital generators have stopped for want of fuel and spare parts, with rainy season and flooding ahead for 2.1 million displaced.
The numbers under the truce
Since the ceasefire took effect on 11 October 2025, the health ministry counts 1,369 killed and 4,627 wounded. Since October 2023, 73,783 killed.
“Where is the ceasefire they keep talking about? There is no such thing.”
