One Nation cartoon sparks outrage
A Pauline Hanson's Please Explain video depicted Jacqui Lambie saying "I can't laugh because of my prolapsed vagina" with a crude sound effect mocking the health condition.

Hanson initially defended the video
On Monday, Hanson told Lambie to lighten up and said the cartoon was satirical and might raise awareness. She told Lambie to have a laugh and get over it.
“Have a good look at it, have a bit of a laugh, Jacqui, and lighten up.”
Lambie spoke publicly about her condition
In an emotional address in the upper house in August, Lambie spoke of her struggles with vaginal prolapse and the lack of access to care faced by other female veterans.
Hanson reverses course and apologises
On Tuesday, Hanson said she had not seen the video before it was posted. She told News24 she had asked the creator to change it, saying it wasn't tastefully done.

Hanson accepts responsibility for the content
Hanson conceded the videos bear her name and said she would have a closer look at future cartoons. She said the episode needs to be reined in and accepted responsibility.
