US strikes Iranian island

The US has launched limited strikes on Iran's Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz, according to US officials who spoke to CBS. Iranian state news agency IRNA reported several explosions on Monday.
Response to Iranian fire
US officials said the strikes were in response to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps firing upon a US aircraft. The US military's Central Command has been contacted for further comment.
Trump says no rush to escalate
Trump told reporters he was in no rush to ramp up strikes on Iran. He told Axios the US has already crippled Iran financially and their people are getting very tired of the conflict.
“One way or the other, we will do something, but there is no rush. We crippled them financially.”
Iran signals diplomatic openness

Iran's foreign minister Abbas Araghchi told IRNA that very intensive talks to end the war are under way with the US via mediators. Tehran said it was prepared for both diplomatic and military scenarios.
