Tesla rebrands in Europe under pressure
Tesla changed the name of its Full Self-Driving system to Assisted Driving in Europe after German regulators said the branding was somewhat misleading.
What German regulators said
The German Federal Ministry of Transport said Full Self-Driving is not a system that takes over the entire driving task.
“It is not a system that takes over the entire driving task. Rather, it is a driver assistance system that can support certain driving tasks such as accelerating, braking, and steering. The driver must remain attentive at all times.”
U.S. pricing and subscriptions

In the United States, Tesla still markets the system as Full Self-Driving Supervised for ninety-nine dollars per month. Tesla reported one point four eight million active FSD subscriptions in its second-quarter earnings update.
U.S. regulators also investigating
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating whether Tesla's FSD is safe in fog, glaring sun or reduced visibility conditions, and whether it caused drivers to commit traffic violations resulting in collisions.
California court ruled against Tesla
In December twenty twenty-five, a California judge determined Tesla engaged in deceptive marketing around Autopilot and FSD systems, falsely implying they were fully automated driving systems.
