Gridlife arrives on the West Coast

The grassroots motorsports-and-music festival drew 20,000 fans to Laguna Seca for a weekend of racing, camping, and performances by Dillon Francis, T-Pain, and other major DJs.

The everyman alternative to F1

Created in 2014 by former ad director Chris Stewart, Gridlife mixes track-day racing with festival vibes, letting regular people compete in their own cars across five racing categories.

Stewart's vision unites two worlds

Stewart's vision unites two worlds

The founder realized his car-track friends and music-festival friends shared similar passions, so he created an event where people could experience both simultaneously.

“I realized we were exploring different passions in similar ways.”

T-Pain became a Gridlife regular

The Grammy-winning artist witnessed professional drifting for the first time at Gridlife Road Atlanta and now competes on track while performing for crowds.

Nappy Boy Automotive expands the scene

T-Pain and drift legend Hert co-founded the club to represent and attract African Americans in motorsport, gifting Hert a 1000-horsepower race-spec Mustang RTR.

Racing runs nine to five daily

Each championship features practice, qualifying, and four races throughout the weekend, with drifting exhibitions and time attacks like Tanner Foust's Porsche 911 run.

Nights belong to the DJs

Dillon Francis headlined Saturday with a full production light show, while Chromeo, A-Trak, and others performed across the main stage and Paddock Stage throughout the weekend.

“One of the best events I've ever been to in my life.”

Gaming and chill zones balance the chaos

The Gridlife Arcade offers racing sims, vintage games, ping pong, and cornhole alongside an iRacing championship, giving attendees ways to unwind between high-energy sets.

Gridlife creates its own culture

The weekend proved that grassroots motorsport and music festivals can coexist, with attendees camping at the track and crafting their own unique experience across multiple venues.

“Everybody crafts their own unique experience.”
