Bread without the bread

Kristyne McDougle Walter of Lorain, Ohio built a garlic bread from whipped egg whites and cheese. No flour, no dough, no rise time.
“Egg whites are my secret weapon when I want to trick my taste buds into believing I'm eating bread.”
Seven things, that's it

Six large egg whites at room temperature, cream of tartar, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and 1-1/2 cups shredded Italian cheese blend.
Whip to stiff peaks
Beat the egg whites with cream of tartar until they hold stiff peaks, then whisk in the garlic powder and seasonings. The air is what makes it bread-like.
Fold, spread, bake
Fold in the cheese, spread the mixture on a greased sheet pan into a 9x11-inch rectangle, and bake at 350 degrees for 22 to 25 minutes until golden.
Three carbs a slice
One piece runs 151 calories with 18 grams of protein and 3 grams of carbohydrate. Sodium is the number to watch at 693 milligrams.
Cut it or wrap it
Slice into four servings and finish with minced parsley or grated parmesan. The same slab doubles as a sandwich wrap.
“This makes an excellent sandwich wrap bread.”
