Meta has introduced Spaces, a new feature for its Muse agents that lets users create topic-focused conversations called custom experiences in the sidebar interface.

How Spaces work with Muse

Users describe a project in chat and Muse builds a Space for it, whether a tracker, planner or project board. Clicking the Space opens the conversation where Muse works toward that goal.

“Describe an idea in chat, and Muse builds a space for you, whether that's a tracker, a planner or a project board.”

Examples of Spaces in action

Meta gives examples including vacation planning, recipe collection for family events, holiday gift trackers, wedding planners and spaces for DIY projects.

Spaces can connect to apps users already use, keeping themselves updated in the background so concert dates, price changes and savings progress appear automatically.

“Connect the apps you use, and your spaces keep themselves up to date in the background, so new concert dates, price changes, or savings progress show up without you having to ask.”

Zuckerberg tests Spaces himself

On Friday, Mark Zuckerberg, Meta's founder and CEO, posted on X that he had made a BBQ game, an event tracker and a home control dashboard using Spaces.

“I've made a BBQ game, an event tracker, and a home control dashboard.”

Muse agents gaining traction

Muse agents reached ten million users in the U.S. and Canada less than two months after debuting, Zuckerberg said during Meta's October earnings call.

Muse Voice launches alongside Spaces

Meta also announced Muse Voice on Thursday, allowing users to video chat with their agent and give it commands verbally. Meta competes with OpenAI's dots and SpaceXAI's Grokbot.
