Nadella's mission at Microsoft

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella told the Frontier Tour London event that the company's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.
“It's our mission to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more”
Three pillars for the frontier ecosystem
Nadella identified three key challenges: recapturing individual empowerment as AI takes over dull tasks, managing the reverse information paradox by keeping knowledge locally owned, and building trust.
The empowerment challenge
Although AI is taking charge of the dullest parts of jobs, humans still need to maintain control over everyday work tasks and not give such systems too much autonomy.
Knowledge ownership and the information paradox

Organizations must capture knowledge created by AI systems and keep it locally owned, controlling both human capital and the token capital generated by digital learning systems.
“you have to own the knowledge that gets created, both with the human capital that you have, as well as the token capital that you generate”
Trust and zero-trust architecture
Nadella warned that scaling laws produce more powerful but less trustworthy AI models, requiring organizations to treat them as new forms of insiders with zero-trust security architecture.
“our scaling laws are producing even more powerful models that are less and less trustworthy”
Executive confidence versus worker doubt
Microsoft research found eighty-four percent of UK business leaders believe the country can become a world-leading AI economy within five years, compared with just forty-one percent of employees.
Worker fears about jobs and opportunity

Over fifty-seven percent of employees using AI at work fear it will reduce opportunities for young people, while thirty-five percent worry about their own job security.
Leaders report AI already changing work
Ninety percent of business leaders claim they have a clear AI strategy, and eighty-four percent in organizations already adopting AI say they have experienced moderate or significant workplace changes.
Here's the gist
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella told the Frontier Tour London event that businesses must embrace AI further while keeping human control over everyday work tasks, as new research shows 84 percent of UK business leaders believe the country can become a world-leading AI economy within five years, compared with just 41 percent of employees.
