ORICO enters laptop market

Accessories maker ORICO has launched the Obook15, its first full computer after 17 years selling storage and connectivity products. Preorders are now open in the US and Philippines.

Ryzen 7 processor with eight cores

The Obook15 is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 6800H chip with 8 cores and 16 threads. The processor boosts to 4.7GHz and includes a Radeon 680M GPU built into the chip.

Memory and storage options

The laptop comes with LPDDR5 memory at 6400MT/s in 12GB or 24GB, and PCIe 3.0 storage of 256GB, 512GB or 1TB. An empty M.2 slot supports up to 4TB of additional PCIe 4.0 storage.

15.6-inch display with flat-open hinge

The Obook15 features a 15.6-inch IPS display with 1920 x 1080 resolution at 60Hz and 170-degree viewing angles. The hinge opens 180 degrees to lie flat, with 5mm bezels creating an 81% screen-to-body ratio.

Aluminum chassis with dual cooling fans

The Obook15 measures 356.5 x 232 x 19.35mm and weighs 1.8kg with an aluminum alloy lid and base. Dual fans and heat pipes keep the 45W system cool, and it runs Windows 11 Home.

Built-in AI assistant for productivity

The Obook15 includes XiaoAo, an AI assistant with 11 specialized experts for device control, workflow automation and knowledge management. CEO Yeyou Xu said it combines capable hardware with AI to reduce routine workload.

Pricing and preorder discount

The Obook15 starts at $689.99 for 12GB and 256GB storage. Preorders between October 16 and October 23 include a 15% discount, reducing the base model to about $586.49.

Three color options available

The Obook15 comes in three color finishes: silver, pink or blue. ORICO chose 12GB as the minimum memory to give Windows 11 and its AI software more headroom for multitasking.
