Record opening for Tamil film

Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 earned a Keralam gross of about twelve point sixty-five crore rupees on its first day, breaking the previous Tamil film record.

“This is a record for a Tamil movie released in the State in terms of the first-day collections.”

Previous record held by Leo

Actor Vijay's Leo had held the previous record for a Tamil film's first-day collection in Kerala with about twelve crore rupees total gross.

Theatres add shows to meet demand

Several theatres across Keralam held screenings for eighteen continuous hours on the first day to capitalise on strong audience interest in the film.

Navaratri holidays boost prospects

Extended holidays in connection with Navaratri celebrations are expected to boost collections, with momentum predicted to remain high through the weekend and next week.

Relief for struggling exhibitors

Exhibitors hope the blockbuster performance will help them through October and address industry challenges from rising maintenance and operational expenses since early twenty twenty-six.

“With rising maintenance and operational expenses, we need a sustained release of movies that can draw audiences to the cinema halls.”
