A pricier Palma

Boox announced the Palma 3 nearly two years after the last model. It will cost $339.99, up from the Palma 2’s $279.99 launch price, and is expected to be available soon.

Same E Ink screen

The 6.13-inch, 300ppi E Ink Carta display carries over from the Palma 2. The bigger visible change is a new anodized aluminum frame and paperlike fiberglass back.
Familiar internals
Inside, the Palma 3 uses a Qualcomm Q-6690 octa-core chip with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. It also has a 3,950mAh battery and a rear 16MP camera.
Android gets newer
The Palma line jumps from Android 11 and Android 13 on earlier models to Android 16. That puts the Palma 3 only one generation behind the newest Android release.
“That should help it feel like a more modern mobile device.”
Stylus support arrives
The Palma 3 works with Boox’s InkSense Plus active stylus, turning the pocket reader into a small digital notebook for note-taking apps.
The pen costs extra
Boox does not include the stylus in the box. Adding it costs another $46, pushing the Palma 3 closer to premium e-note territory like the Remarkable Paper Pure.
What to remember
The Palma 3 is a pricier, more polished pocket e-reader whose biggest practical upgrades are Android 16 and optional note-taking.
