Historic first for Western Europe
German launch provider Isar Aerospace successfully launched its Spectrum rocket from Andøya Space Center in northern Norway, reaching orbit in just over seven minutes.

A triumphant second attempt
The 95-foot-tall rocket previously failed during its debut flight in March 2025 when a valve error led to loss of attitude control less than a minute after liftoff.
Navigating months of setbacks
Before reaching the pad, the team overcame technical delays, pressurization valve issues, composite vessel leaks, fluid system anomalies, bad weather, and an intruding boat.

Carrying real payloads to orbit
Unlike its payload-free test flight, this mission carried five small cubesats and a scientific experiment into an elliptical orbit around Earth.
Scaling up satellite delivery
Spectrum can haul up to 2,200 pounds to low Earth orbit. Isar plans to manufacture over 30 rockets annually near Munich to become a major commercial launcher.
