Smart ring aims to be your AI agent's remote control
Aina Ring lets you approve or reject AI tasks with a button press instead of reaching for your phone.
In brief
Aina Ring lets you approve or reject AI tasks with a button press instead of reaching for your phone. Aina Ring, a $399 smart ring launching January 2027, uses a joystick button and display to let users quickly approve or reject AI agent requests without taking out their phone. The bottleneck problem
Apoorv Shankar believes AI agents will soon ask humans for constant approvals throughout the day. Checking your phone repeatedly to say yes or no becomes a bottleneck that slows everything down.
Meet the Aina Ring
Shankar created the Aina Ring with a small display and joystick-like button to quickly accept or reject AI agent actions. Your phone stays in your pocket while the ring handles approvals.
From Project Mirage to Aina

Aina debuted experimental products at CES 2026 under the name Project Mirage. One was called Dune, a precursor to the Aina Ring that connected to Macs with context-aware button controls.
Price and availability
Preorders for the Aina Ring are live now at three hundred ninety-nine dollars for a limited time. The retail price rises to four hundred ninety-nine dollars when shipping begins in January twenty twenty-seven.
How Aina Cues work
The titanium ring learns your routines from location, calendar, and email. It suggests actions like playing your podcast at six am when you put on running shoes, or ordering an Uber at eight thirty am.
Why the display matters

The ring's display confirms whether an action went through. Shankar says agents today do not respond immediately, so users need visual confirmation that what they approved actually happened.
“Agents today don't respond immediately. For us to trust these devices, that what I said actually just happened, you need display confirmation.”
Beyond approvals
The Aina Ring also offers voice control for AI agents, note-taking, phone calls through a tiny speaker, and context-aware remote controls for Zoom meetings or TV systems when connected.
Not a phone replacement
Unlike failed AI gadgets like Humane and Rabbit that tried to replace phones, Shankar says phones are too perfect. The Aina Ring simply removes you as a bottleneck so AI agents can work on your behalf.
“phones are "too perfect."”
