1. Using Shortify

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Shortify website, apps, and related features, which are operated by MoonBird Inc., and "we", "us" and "our" refer to that company. By using the service, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information about you.

2. AI-generated content; entertainment only

Shortify shorts, summaries, cards, illustrations, and narration are generated or assisted by artificial intelligence. All content is provided for entertainment purposes only. AI can invent information, omit important context, misinterpret sources, and produce inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or outdated statements. Generated images and voices are illustrative and are not evidence of real events or statements.

Do not treat a short as a verified factual report or a substitute for the original article. Always follow the source link, read the original article, and independently verify claims with reliable, up-to-date sources before relying on them. Shortify does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or timeliness of any content, including content from third parties.

3. No financial, health, or other professional advice

Nothing on Shortify constitutes financial, investment, trading, tax, medical, health, mental-health, legal, or other professional advice, a recommendation, or an offer to buy or sell anything. Use of the service does not create a professional-client relationship.

Make important or life-changing decisions only after consulting an appropriately qualified professional in the relevant field who understands your circumstances. Do not make investments, change treatment, delay medical care, or take other consequential action based on a short. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.

4. Your account and contributions

Keep your account and sign-in codes secure. Use Shortify lawfully and do not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, infringe others' rights, or post unlawful or abusive content. You are responsible for your comments, submitted links, uploaded documents, and other contributions. Submit only material you have the right to use and do not upload confidential or sensitive personal information.

You retain your rights in your contributions. You give Shortify permission to process, host, reproduce, and display them as needed to operate the features you use, including creating and sharing shorts. Public comments and published shorts may be visible to others and indexed by search engines. We may remove content or restrict access for misuse or legal requirements, subject to applicable law.

5. Personalization, feeds, and engagement

Shortify may use information such as your interests, follows, reading history, searches, reactions, approximate location, and timezone to personalize feeds, recommend stories, show locally relevant or trending content, remember preferences, and schedule requested digests. Personalization is automated or assisted by algorithms and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for you. You can adjust available interests, preferences, and notification settings, but recommendations may still reflect information collected before a change takes effect.

Views, reading progress, dwell time, source clicks, reactions, comments, and sharing interactions may be recorded to operate features, improve recommendations, measure performance, prevent abuse, and provide publisher reporting. Engagement signals do not guarantee that a story is accurate, popular, or endorsed by Shortify. Public reactions, comments, profiles, and other contributions may be visible to others as described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Ingest, narration, and AI processing

You may submit article URLs, RSS or Atom feeds, and documents where those features are available. Shortify may fetch, extract, transform, summarize, illustrate, translate, narrate, and publish resulting material. Extraction can fail because of paywalls, access restrictions, technical limitations, incomplete documents, or changes made by a source. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to submit material and for complying with the source's terms.

Narration may be generated by an AI speech provider, a local service, or your device's browser or operating system, depending on the available configuration. Generated text, images, and audio may be unavailable, delayed, contain errors, or differ from the source. AI processing may be performed by Shortify and its service providers as described in the Privacy Policy. Do not submit confidential, sensitive, or private material that you do not want processed by these systems.

7. Sources, publishers, and third-party services

Original articles, publisher materials, trademarks, and other third-party content belong to their respective rights holders. Linking to or summarizing a source does not imply endorsement, affiliation, or permission to reuse that publisher's content. Publisher accounts and submissions must be accurate and authorized. We may attribute, link, limit, remove, or decline publisher content and submissions at our discretion or when required by law.

Third-party websites, feeds, AI providers, speech services, analytics services, and other integrations have their own terms and privacy policies. Shortify does not control their content, availability, security, pricing, or practices. Your use of a third-party service is between you and that provider.

8. Communications and service data

If you request account access codes, digests, alerts, or other communications, you authorize Shortify and its service providers to send them to the contact information you provide. Delivery timing, availability, and formatting may depend on your email provider, device, network, and settings. You can manage available communication preferences, though we may still send essential service, security, or legal notices.

We may use cookies, local storage, logs, diagnostics, and analytics to operate, secure, debug, and improve Shortify. The Privacy Policy describes these practices and your available choices.

9. No warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shortify and its content are provided 'as is' and 'as available', without express or implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or factual accuracy. We do not warrant uninterrupted, secure, or error-free service. You use the service and evaluate its content at your own risk.

10. Limitation of liability and release

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Shortify and its operators, employees, and service providers disclaim liability for losses arising from your use of or inability to use the service, inaccurate or omitted facts, AI-generated errors, third-party content, or decisions made in reliance on the content. To that same extent, you waive and release claims arising from those matters, including claims for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost opportunities, or loss of data.

These exclusions and this release apply only where legally enforceable. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including applicable liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or non-waivable consumer rights. If an exclusion is not enforceable, liability is limited only to the extent the law permits. These terms do not waive rights you cannot legally waive.

11. Changes, suspension, and applicable rights

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the service, including features, feeds, narration, storage, and published content. We may suspend or terminate access for violations, abuse, security concerns, nonpayment where applicable, or legal requirements. We are not responsible for losses caused by changes or interruptions to the extent permitted by law.

We may update these terms as features or practices change. Updates will be posted here with a revised date, and we will provide additional notice or obtain agreement where required by law. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. Nothing here removes mandatory protections available under the laws that apply to you.
